SUMMARY:L'ARTE CORAGGIOSA AL LIDO DI VENEZIA
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1760006860608{margin-top: 3em !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1760009968635{margin-bottom: 0.5em !important;}” el_class=”event-it”][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1760009171353{margin-bottom: 5em !important;}”]On the upcoming 10th of October\, at 6:00 PM at the Hotel Aquarius in Venice\, we celebrate the presentation of L’Arte coraggiosa al Lido di Venezia. This is the latest book by Franco Tagliapietra\, whose elucidating subtitle is “Pittori\, esposizioni\, palazzi 1908-1934“\, published in Venice by Casa Editrice el squero\, 2025. \nFranco Tagliapietra\, a historian of contemporary art\, essayist\, and curator of 20th-century exhibitions in Italy and abroad\, and formerly a professor at the prestigious Academies of Venice and Brera\, will be in conversation with Giovanni Montanaro\, the noted Venetian novelist. \nTheir discussion will delve into a period as overlooked as it was significant: the season of contemporary painting and sculpture exhibitions held at the Venice Lido during the first third of the 20th century. These showcases were hosted in unique architectural settings\, often in temporary or occasional spaces. These include the Stabilimento Bagni\, which in 1908\, 1909\, 1910\, and 1919 presented exhibitions of young artists alongside their masters; the Hotel Excelsior\, the site of a pivotal 1914 “salon des refusés“\, an exhibition of artists rejected by the Venice Biennale\, spearheaded by Arturo Martini and Gino Rossi; the Hotel Des Bains\, which in 1919 held a National Exhibition teeming with artists; and finally\, the former Ospizio Marino\, where in 1923 a solo show was dedicated to the new rising star of Futurist painting\, Enrico Prampolini.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1759324911252{margin-top: 2.5em !important;margin-bottom: 5em !important;}”] \n \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1759324899687{margin-top: 2.5em !important;margin-bottom: 5em !important;}”]These early shows were followed by the highly acclaimed era of the ten editions of the Mostre dell’Opera Bevilacqua La Masa\, held at the Lido’s Palazzo dell’Esposizione. This building\, located opposite the Hotel Excelsior at the corner of Via Candia and the current Lungomare Marconi\, is now home to the Bar al Leone d’Oro. It was on this bar’s terrace that a ceremony took place last July 25th\, commemorating the building’s original purpose precisely one hundred years after its inauguration. \nDesigned by Giovanni Sicher\, the creator of several Art Nouveau villas on the Lido\, the “Art Pavilion“—as he termed it in his architectural plans—was erected in just three months. In architectural continuity with the pre-existing Procuratie\, it was immediately named the Palazzo dell’Esposizione\, ready to host a dazzling art exhibition. From July 25th to the end of September of that year\, residents\, tourists\, and art enthusiasts could enjoy the splendid XVI° Esposizione dell’Opera Bevilacqua La Masa. I° Esposizione degli artisti di Ca’ Pesaro al Lido. Here\, one could admire works by some of the greatest artists whose names are now enshrined in the Institution’s history\, such as Moggioli and Boccioni\, who had died during the First World War\, alongside the ever-active Casorati\, Cagnaccio di San Pietro\, Semeghini\, and many others who exhibited paintings of extraordinary quality. \nFor ten summers\, until 1934\, the Palazzo dell’Esposizione became the privileged venue for compelling and significant offerings of young Italian\, Venetian\, and regional art. It hosted the absolute debut of future luminaries of the Italian art world\, including Giovanni Korompay\, Giuseppe Santomaso\, Mario Deluigi\, Edmondo Bacci\, Afro Basaldella\, Armando Pizzinato and many more. \nTagliapietra‘s text focuses on their most significant works while also examining pictorial subjects inspired by the life and shores of the Venice Lido\, as manifested in the works of diverse artists such as Ettore Tito\, Italico Brass\, Giuseppe Santomaso\, Filippo De Pisis\, and others.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1759324854773{margin-top: 2.5em !important;margin-bottom: 5em !important;}”]Background cover: Nino Springolo\, Bagnanti\, 1912\, oil on canvas\, 40 x 47.7 cm.\, Private collection.[/vc_column_text][dfd_new_team_member main_layout=”layout-15″ team_member_img_width=”190″ team_member_img_height=”273″ team_member_name=”L’ARTE CORAGGIOSA AL LIDO DI VENEZIA” team_member_job_position=”© 2025 – Franco Tagliapietra” team_member_description=”Casa Editrice el squero” icon_size=”15″ el_class=”full-width label-white” team_member_photo=”46148″ enable_custom_link=”show” custtom_link_url=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.casaeditriceelsquero.it%2Flibro%2F166%2Flarte-coraggiosa-al-lido-di-venezia|title:L’ARTE%20CORAGGIOSA%20AL%20LIDO%20DI%20VENEZIA|target:_blank” title_font_options=”tag:div” subtitle_font_options=”tag:h6″ shadow=”show”][dfd_spacer screen_wide_spacer_size=”25″ screen_normal_resolution=”1024″ screen_tablet_resolution=”800″ screen_mobile_resolution=”480″][dfd_new_team_member main_layout=”layout-15″ team_member_img_width=”190″ team_member_img_height=”273″ team_member_name=”Franco Tagliapietra” team_member_job_position=”” team_member_description=”A native of Venice\, Franco Tagliapietra was a professor of Contemporary Art History for over thirty years at the Academies of Fine Arts of Venice and Milan (Brera). SUMMARY:BRASIL - Heloisa Lourenço
DESCRIPTION:Heloisa Lourenço vocals and percussion\,\nMarco Ponchiroli piano\,\nAlvise Seggi doublebass.\n\n  \nThis multifaceted South American artist has personality to spare\, and as Luma\, she possesses an extraordinary voice. From her warm and enveloping timbre alone\, one can perceive the emotion this marvelous singer can convey. For this occasion\, she is accompanied by two talented and refined Venetian musicians: pianist Marco Ponchiroli and bassist Alvise Seggi. \nThe trio presents a repertoire that pays homage to the musical tradition of Brazil\, featuring recent composers such as Chico Buarque\, Djavan\, Ivan Lins\, and Caetano Veloso\, as well as historical figures like A. C. Jobim and D. Caymmi. The program also includes pieces drawn from Caribbean (H. Belafonte) and Cuban musical culture\, along with reinterpretations of well-known overseas standards in a Latin-American style. It is a concert of high musical caliber that is\, at the same time\, enjoyable and immediately impactful. \n \nHeloisa Lourenço\nShe was born in São Paulo\, Brazil\, but her artistic journey began in Paris\, France\, in 1991\, where she debuted alongside singer Loalva Braz in the group Kaoma. She has collaborated with names such as Manu Dibango\, Paul Personne\, and Richard Clayderman. She has consistently captured attention in France with various concerts at venues like the Grande Salle in Paris\, Bataclan\, Divan Du Monde\, New Morning\, and the Blue Note.
