Resonantia evokes the idea of an evolving sound, a constantly changing sonic journey, perfect for a musical project that combines writing, improvisation, tradition and experimentation.
The trio was born from the meeting of three musicians with a solid academic background, but also with a strong vocation for improvisation. However, “our concept of improvisation goes beyond the jazz language alone: it draws on different musical experiences, ranging from popular music to South American tradition, up to the modal colors of North African music and maqam“.
Another peculiarity of the trio is its instrumental versatility: “each of us is not limited to a single instrument, but explores different timbres and sound possibilities, giving life to a dynamic and constantly changing interweaving“.
Finally, in addition to the reinterpretation of pieces from different cultural contexts, the repertoire is enriched by original compositions, born from the personal journey and musical sensitivity of the musicians.
Active in various groups, he has played and recorded with Minimal Klezmer, Don Ciccio Philarmonic Orchestra, Mocambo Swing, Luca Ferraris, Diplomatico & Collettivo Ninco Nanco.
Since 2011 he has been a member of the 121 St. Mark Band of Caffè Quadri in Piazza San Marco.
Creator of the "Power Acoustic Sunday" format, between 2010 and 2018 he organized numerous evenings of music, improvisation and performance in the Venice area.
Since 2009 he has held a workshop for children on Klezmer music for the Goie Musicali festival in Asolo.
With a background ranging from classical music to jazz, he has collaborated as a musician, arranger and composer with artists from the world of entertainment and song including Gigliola Cinquetti, Mauro Macario, Lucio Dalla, Egberto Gismonti, Nicola Stilo.
Since 2002 he has collaborated regularly with the quartet of violinist Gunther Sanin, and with the new quintet of singer Cecilia Gasdia.
In 2005 he composed with Chantango the soundtrack of the short film “Amor sacro e amor profano“, by director Stefano Terenziani, best soundtrack at the short film festival of Chianciano Terme and at the “Oscarino” festival in Bergamo.
He has participated in festivals and reviews in Italy and abroad, composing original music for visual arts exhibitions and also collaborating with the Venice International Film Festival, the International Art Museum of Israel, the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa in Venice and the Arena di Verona Opera House. He recently published a monographic album for solo piano dedicated entirely to the music of the Brazilian composer Egberto Gismonti, for Universal.
