An Evening of American, French, and Italian Song: An Encounter Between Vocal Brilliance and Pianistic Virtuosity
This evening is dedicated to the rich tapestry of American, French, and Italian song, featuring a unique collaboration between the exceptional voice of Sara Longo, an Italo-French singer, and the talented and eclectic Roman pianist Daniele Pozzovio. Performing together for the first time, they present a shared repertoire interpreted with personal flair, artistic sensitivity, and a refined reimagining of timeless classics.
The concert offers a musical journey through the sophisticated atmospheres of jazz and the French chanson, traversing the enduring melodies of the Italian singer-songwriter tradition. The program includes iconic pieces popularized by Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet, Roberto Murolo, and Pino Daniele, alongside evergreens from the American songbook by composers such as Cole Porter and George Gershwin. These selections will be presented in original arrangements that highlight Sara Longo’s vocal intensity and Daniele Pozzovio’s expressive versatility.
This is a singular opportunity to experience an elegant and engaging sonic event, where the dialogue between voice and piano evolves into an emotional narrative woven with nostalgia, passion, and poetry.
His solo piano compositions are also utilized as soundtracks for television and radio programs.
In 2010, he was a guest of the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) in Barcelona, presenting a piano recital featuring music by Ravel, Gershwin, and his own improvisations at the "Municipal" Conservatory of the same city. He was a featured artist at the Casa del Jazz in 2009, 2010, 2011, and for a solo piano performance on May 15, 2013. He also performed at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in 2015.
For television, he collaborates with Leonardo Cesari in creating soundtracks for the Rai Tre programs "Gaia" and "Il 3 Pianeta," as well as the Rai-Educational segment "Il Mosaico."
He has participated in international jazz festivals with his various projects. His latest album, "Resurrection," features collaborations with Ares Tavolazzi, Amedeo Ariano, and Luca Bulgarelli.
