MED – Dialogues Between Tradition and Contemporary Groove

The MED project originates from the meeting of three musicians who traverse the sonic geographies of the Mediterranean with a contemporary outlook, open to the cross-pollination of languages and timbral experimentation. The instruments: Arabic oud, piano and live electronics, ethnic percussion and digital grooves, together fuse elements of traditional Middle Eastern music with modern rhythmic structures and electronic atmospheres, giving life to a hybrid, enveloping, and original sound.

At the heart of the project lies the oud, a thousand-year-old instrument and symbol of Arab musical culture, here reinterpreted in a dialogic and experimental key. The piano, sometimes extended with contemporary techniques and enriched by electronic textures, acts as a harmonic bridge between West and East. Finally, the percussion unites ancestral timbres with electronic patterns and syncopated grooves, creating a pulsating and layered rhythm that supports and transforms the entire sonic framework.

Contaminated music, rich in improvisations and evocative themes, in which each piece is constructed as a narrative microcosm, where tradition is reinterpreted in the light of contemporary aesthetic sensibilities. The trio proposes an immersive musical experience that combines the depth of roots with the power of rhythm, in a journey between acoustic memory and electronic tension, between poetic evocation and sonic physicality.
