Xodò di Exù Group – A tribute to Luiz Gonzaga

The Xodò di Exù is a group formed by the singer Rosa Emilia Dias, the guitarist and songwriter Daniele Galletta, and the accordionist Paolo Matterazzo, artists who have come together for the first time around a single rhythm: Forrò.

Forrò is a musical genre born in the Northeast of Brazil that teases our ears and soul with its irresistible rhythm of yesterday and today. It is romantic, sensual, and at the same time cheerful. The word forrò is a corruption of the English phrase “for all” which was written on invitations to dance parties in remote parts of the Brazilian hinterland. Forrò is also a dance, and today it is already widespread in Italy and around the world.

Xodò di Exù has come together to create an irresistible party through the sounds of traditional stringed and percussion instruments. The most famous forrós of all time are part of their repertoire and are part of the collective memory of millions of people who love this musical genre worldwide.

In this event, they will perform songs by Luiz Gonzaga, Falamansa, Gilberto Gil, Alceu Valença, Gonzaguinha, Cacaso, Chico César, Dominguinhos, Djavan, Geraldo Azevedo, as well as original pieces by Rosa Emilia Dias and Daniele Galletta.
