Con tutta la rabbia con tutto l’amore

“The idea of singing Giorgio Gaber has always been in my head”, says Massimiliano Paton.

…I’ve lived those words so deeply that bringing them back in a spontaneous and sincere way feels like the most natural thing in the world.

How could I get all of this across to my peers or to those younger than me, without it feeling like “our parents’ music”?

…the real barrier, the filter preventing this immense legacy from hitting today’s listeners straight in the gut, comes down to sound.

Giving concrete shape to this intuition was meeting pianist Marco Ponchiroli, who, with his immense sensitivity and experience, managed to translate my ideas into arrangements. Suddenly, the project came to life.

Today, what drives me is a very simple urge: to share.

The fact that the themes Gaber sang about decades ago are still so fiercely relevant is, if you think about it, a bit troubling—because it means we haven’t solved a single thing.
