The Project
The Latino Project is rooted in a musical philosophy that champions “bella musica” – the pursuit of melodic refinement, harmonic richness, and expressive depth. Their repertoire traverses the vibrant landscapes of Brazilian and South American music, featuring works by contemporary masters such as Chico Buarque, Djavan, Ivan Lins, Caetano Veloso, and Dori Caymmi, alongside legendary figures like Antônio Carlos Jobim, Vinícius de Moraes, Astor Piazzolla, and Hugo Fattoruso. The program is further elevated by the group’s original compositions, which define their unique artistic identity.
Central to the project is a voice of rare evocative power and unique timbre. Supporting her is a seasoned trio of instrumentalists whose collective experience spans over three decades of international jazz and pop prestige.
The Artists
Heloisa Lourenço
An internationally acclaimed vocalist, balances her career between Paris and Venice. Her interpretative style is deeply personal and instantly recognizable, blending a unique vocal identity with uncommon grace and elegance to create an intensely engaging performance.
Jacopo Jacopetti
A saxophonist, composer, and producer from Padua, has been a staple of the Italian music scene for over forty years. He has collaborated with greats such as Massimo Urbani, Paolo and Marcello Tonolo, and Sandro Gibellini. A founding member of Gianni Cazzola’s Italian Repertory Quartet, he has performed at Italy’s most prestigious jazz festivals. In the 80s and 90s, he toured internationally (Japan, Argentina, Europe) with pop icons like Matia Bazar, Ornella Vanoni, and Eros Ramazzotti. He has released eight albums as a leader, including a notable “Opera in Jazz” project with Madelyn Renée.
Marco Ponchiroli
An eclectic Venetian pianist who graduated with honors from the “Benedetto Marcello” Conservatory. His versatile background spans blues, pop, and reggae (performing at the Sanremo Festival with Pitura Freska). He has composed for theater, including Giorgio Gaber’s Il Grigio, and collaborated with jazz luminaries like Flavio Boltro, Fabrizio Bosso, and John Riley. His career includes extensive tours of South America and a prolific discography as both a pianist and arranger.
Alvise Seggi
A highly versatile bassist whose mastery of both electric and double bass completes this high-profile quartet. His deep rhythmic sense and stylistic flexibility provide the foundational pulse for the ensemble’s South American explorations.
