The Door Ajar is the debut album as a bandleader by pianist and composer Lorenzo Liuzzi, scheduled for release on November 18, 2025, via Dodicilune Records.
Featuring Marco Centasso on double bass and Raul Catalano on drums, the album comprises eight original compositions and arrangements of modern jazz, exhibiting influences from both contemporary and traditional styles, composed over the last decade between Paris and Venice.
Lorenzo Liuzzi
A Venetian musician who graduated in Italy and France in both classical and jazz music. He recorded his first albums and singles with the bands Icebergs, Isthme, and L’Incanto.
Active as a performer, composer, and arranger, he also collaborates on theatre productions and silent film accompaniments.
In the field of contemporary sound and musical experimentation, he currently performs with the electroacoustic piece D-SIDE, reprocessing original field recordings live using effects, live looping, and synthesizers.
