Next to her, the deep and poignant notes of Nina Simone: a voice that sang not only of love, but also of the fight for civil rights and self-determination. And then Lhasa de Sela, with her poetic and melancholic universe, capable of crossing cultures and styles with a unique intensity.
And Mercedes Sosa, the “voice of the voiceless”, who with her singing gave life to the dreams and hopes of an entire continent.

Giuliana Spanò began singing as a child in the Piccoli Cantori Veneziani choir, participating in polyphonic concerts and operas at the Teatro La Fenice.
She grew up continuing to cultivate the choral dimension between the Cantori Veneziani and the Polifonica Benedetto Marcello and then arrived at the gospel of the Venice Gospel Ensemble and the Joy Singers.
As a soloist she studied at Il Suono Improvviso in Venice under the guidance of Carla Marcotulli and Piera Acone and participated in Edu Hebling’s ensemble music workshops.
She has always cultivated a love for jazz, funk, soul and has experimented with innovative vocal and interpretative formations. With reinterpretations and profound sounds, she offers great international successes, including some of the most beautiful cornerstones in the history of Italian music.

Max Bustreo is an eclectic pianist with a classical background, he soon developed a passion for jazz and Afro-American music. He attended the Il Suono Improvviso school in Venice in jazz piano, ensemble music and harmony courses with Paolo Birro, Davide Ragazzoni, Paolo Vianello, Marco Castelli.

In 1997 he obtained the International Diploma of Specialization at Siena Jazz under the guidance of Enrico Pieranunzi, Franco D’Andrea, Stefano Battaglia and Pietro Tonolo. In 2005 he obtained the Masterclass of Danilo Rea at the Jazz Club Unisono (Feltre). He is the author of the lesson-concert Jazz. A story in black and white© and of innovative projects and fun collaborations, including Frankie Back From Hollywood, the Upperground Orchestra – with which he recorded three albums – and the duo Mind the Jazz.
