Giovanni Dell’Olivo – Collettivo di Lagunaria in concerto

A Mediterranean music concert blending singer-songwriter traditions and ethno-folk sounds from the Venetian Lagoon to the Balkans and the Aegean Sea.

This performance offers an exclusive preview of the Collective’s upcoming album: “Ritratti informali… di corpi non conformi” (Informal Portraits… of Non-Conformist Bodies).
Inspired by Alberto Toso Fei’s renowned Ritratti Veneziani, this project metaphorically views Venice “from the ground up”, from the ancient masegni paving stones that have absorbed generations of stories.

The album portrays Venice through the real lives of historical and popular figures from the Middle Ages to the present day: women of power, cursed artists, brilliant impostors, exiled poets, and marginalized souls. Among the labyrinth of Venetian alleyways, listeners will encounter figures like the Sultana Cecilia Venier Baffo, the early transgender icon Rolandina Roncaglia, the alchemist Marco Bragadin, the Divina Marchesa Luisa Casati, and the legendary thief Kociss.
These rebellious, non-conformist lives become symbols of individual redemption and a beacon against the obtuse injustice of power.
