MADE IN FRANCE

“Made in France” is the new concert project that Miranda Cortes has been presenting since 2025, joined by saxophonist Giovanni Di Vito, double bassist Alvise Seggi, and drummer Davide Fradeloni.
It is a deep immersion into France, told by someone who has lived it through its people and its music. From Serge Gainsbourg‘s La Javanaise to Tony Murena‘s Parisian Godasse, it is a swirl of melodies that winds through Toulouse before finally arriving at original compositions by accordionist Miranda Cortes. Along this journey, she also pays tribute to a true master: Jacques Brel.
The show’s title captures the very essence of the repertoire: a French atmosphere of words and sounds featuring the French waltz, the irony of Boris Vian, and Jazz Manouche.
Miranda Cortes
A French musician based in Venice, Miranda Cortes is one of today’s most sensitive and original accordionists and composers. She boasts a solid academic background, having graduated with honors in classical accordion and music education. She performs extensively across Europe, with a repertoire ranging from contemporary art music to experimental projects. Her multicultural background and ethnomusicological research led her to found the ensemble “La Frontera,” dedicated to original interpretations of Mediterranean traditions. She collaborates with numerous artists across diverse genres—from folk to electronics—combining virtuoso technique with profound interpretive sensitivity.
